At the request of Roskomnadzor, RBC provides data on the details of the military operation in Ukraine based on information from Russian official sources.

As Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 20, Ukrainian embassies are actively recruiting foreign mercenaries; there are about 7,000 people from 63 countries in the country. According to her, the mercenaries come from the United States, Canada, Georgia, Great Britain, Poland and Romania. “More than a thousand mercenaries have already been destroyed. About a thousand more refused to participate in hostilities and returned to their former extremist deployment sites, », — Zakharova said.

She noted that the remaining 4.8 & ndash; 5 thousand foreign mercenaries should return to their states, since, according to international law, they are deprived of legal protection and their “at best” awaits a long prison term.

During the military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly reported on the destruction of foreign mercenaries and their training centers. The official representative of the department, IgorKonashenkov, previously stated that they appeared in the country “against the background of the destruction of nationalists.” Western mercenaries and fighters of foreign PMCs are attacking Russian troops using weapons supplied by the West, he argued.
