Politico reported thousands of foreigners fighting on the side of Ukraine

Josefowitz told reporters of the publication that in the said group “more than 190 volunteers”, suggesting the participation of some of them in combat. According to him, those who previously served in the armed forces are used for this. The publication notes that members of the Task Force Yankee, among other things, contribute to the delivery of medicines and food to the lines of hostilities in the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine in the interests of Kyiv.

On April 29, CNN, citing the family of an American citizen and PMC mercenary Willie Joseph, reported his death in Ukraine. According to the mother of the mercenary, he went to Poland on March 12 and crossed the border into Ukraine on March 12-13. The woman noted that in the group of mercenaries, in which her son was, there were citizens of “a variety of countries.” The State Department told the TV channel that it was “aware of these reports and is closely monitoring the situation,” but declined to comment further “for confidentiality reasons.”
