WSJ: Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing an attack on Kherson

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will attempt counteroffensive on the strategically important city of Kherson, which is under the control of the RF Armed Forces. This is stated in the article  The Wall Street Journal.

It is reported that if Kyiv fails, it will weaken the support of the collective West. According to the authors of the article, with the failure of the counter-offensive, new calls will appear for settlement of the situation in Ukraine through negotiations. It is noted that such appeals will come from the countries of Western Europe, where deliveries of Russian natural gas have been reduced.

The authors of the article are sure that the RF Armed Forces took Kherson effortlessly. It is clarified that this city is of strategic importance, since opens access in the direction of Odessa. There is also a seaport in Kherson.

The likelihood of a counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson was estimated by military expert Igor Korotchenko. According to him, the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about a counter-offensive in the near future is political in nature, but this possibility cannot be ruled out.
